Our provider, Carrie Shahbahrami, MSN, APRN, ACCNS-AG, PMHNP-BC, is dually boarded in medical and psychiatric care allowing a comprehensive assessment of each client's needs. Carrie began her nursing career in 2000 focusing on the needs of patients within the acute hospital setting. Upon furthering her education at Johns Hopkins University and University of Cincinnati, Carrie chose to focus on client's needing specialized psychiatric care and treatment. Clinical interests include Asperger syndrome, developmental disabilities, and schizophrenia spectrum disorders. Carrie's passion is serving the underrepresented while reducing the stigma associated with mental health.
Our provider, Kevin Law, MSN, PMHNP-BC, received his masters at Walden University and attended Colorado Mesa University for undergraduate studies. His passion for psychiatric care lead him to treat those in the acute care setting and substance use treatment. His clinical interests include PTSD, developmental disabilities, learning disabilities, anxiety, and substance use disorders.
Our provider, Caitlin Lawshe, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, FNP-C, is an advanced practice nurse with dual certification in psychiatry and family medicine. She obtained her undergraduate nursing degrees from Mississippi University for Women and completed her graduate studies through University of Colorado Colorado Springs. Having initiated her nursing career in 2008, she has accumulated a diverse range of experiences in the field. Caitlin’s professional philosophy emphasizes a holistic approach to mental and physical health, integrating pharmacological and nonpharmacological treatments and recommendations tailored to individual patient needs when possible. She also places an importance on empowering patients to take an active role in their health journey.
Our prescriber, Jessica Schmalz, MSN, PMHNP-BC, specializes in psychiatric care for individuals ages 6 to 60 with clinical interests centering on developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, depression, anxiety, and adjustment disorder. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Colorado Christian University in 2016, then went on to complete her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from the University of South Alabama in 2020, focusing on psychiatric care across the lifespan. She have a diverse background in psychiatric nursing with experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She conducts ADHD testing and works closely with patients and families to manage these mental health struggles. Jessica also has experience in school-based support, providing assistance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans. This allows her to work collaboratively with schools to ensure her patients receive the accommodations and support they need for educational success. She believes in a patient-centered approach, where the treatment plan is tailored to each individual's unique needs and goals. Her aim is to create a safe and supportive environment, offering both medication management and therapeutic support to help her patients achieve their best quality of life.
Our prescriber, Pam Carter, MSN, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. Pam began her career working in the acute mental health hospital setting in 2014. Pam went on to complete her Registered Nursing Degree and worked as a board-certified Psychiatric Registered Nurse and Certified Addiction Registered Nurse at several hospitals across Colorado. She then went on to receive a Master of Science in Nursing at Walden University to continue to provide a higher level of collaborative care for her clients. Pam has specialized experiences and clinical interests in Autism Spectrum Disorders, Developmental Disorders, Depression, Anxiety, Addiction Disorders, Mood Disorders, and PTSD. Pam believes in collaborating with clients and other care providers to individualize care in providing the best wholistic treatment. Her hobbies include baking, exploring new places, and enjoying local farmer markets. Pam is passionate about continuing to be a dedicated advocate for change and progress for patients with mental health challenges and neurological dysfunctions.

With over ten years of experience in mental health, he has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings, gaining expertise in education and leadership. Matthew takes a holistic, patient-centered approach to care, emphasizing evidence-based treatments to support overall well-being. His clinical interests include substance use disorders, anxiety, and depression, and he is dedicated to helping individuals achieve lasting recovery and improved mental health.
